Growing Through Adventure: Cub Scouts at CAC
Cairo American College Cub Scouts

At Cairo American College, some of the most lasting lessons happen when students are encouraged to explore, collaborate, and step confidently into new experiences. For many of our elementary learners, Cub Scouts has become one of those spaces.

Pack 701, proudly chartered by CAC, has been part of the school community for at least the past several years, offering students in kindergarten through fifth grade a structured, supportive environment where growth happens naturally through hands-on learning. Cub Scouts is a program within Scouting America, designed to help children build character, confidence, and leadership skills while having fun along the way. Through outdoor activities, team challenges, service projects, badge work, and group events, Scouts learn values such as responsibility, respect, kindness, and perseverance, skills that extend well beyond childhood.

This year, approximately 60 CAC students across six grade levels are part of Pack 701, reflecting a strong and engaged group of young learners eager to try new things and support one another.

Cub Scouts also serve as an important foundation for the next stage of scouting. Older students, ages 11–17, continue their journey through Scouts BSA, allowing them to further develop independence and leadership, continuing the culture of mentorship and growth established in the earlier years.

Students typically join at the beginning of the school year, as the program is intentionally designed as a year-long experience that allows Scouts to complete requirements and progress to the next rank together. At its core, scouting is about belonging. It is about the confidence that comes from learning a new skill, the pride of accomplishing a goal, and the friendships formed along the way.

Built for Growth

Programs like Cub Scouts reflect something deeply valued at CAC,  creating opportunities for students to discover their interests, challenge themselves, and grow within a caring community.
