MIDDLE SCHOOL
Growth, Exploration & Discovery in the Middle Years
Middle school is a time of growth, discovery, and exciting new challenges, and at CAC, we make sure every step of the journey is engaging, supportive, and fun.
Building on the strong foundation of inquiry from elementary school, our curriculum takes a future-focused approach, deepening students’ understanding and preparing them for high school. Purpose-designed workshops and outdoor learning spaces bring lessons to life, while clubs, sports, and PRIME trips exploring Egypt’s treasures foster curiosity and connection.
Every part of the middle school experience is designed to support students' well-being and inspire them to learn, explore, and have fun!

Expanding Horizons, Building Foundations
CAC’s middle school bridges elementary foundations with high school readiness through a dynamic mix of structure and choice. Students follow a rotating block schedule that mirrors the high school model, combining core academic subjects with a wide array of electives.
Elective options expand to include 2D and 3D art, improvisational theater, choir, band, stagecraft, and hands-on courses like Disruptive Innovation and Design Technology. World languages and academic competitions such as the World Scholars Cup challenge students further, while community service initiatives empower them to make a difference.
Recognizing the unique needs of early adolescents, our program emphasizes student well-being alongside academics. The 6th Grade Exploratory Wheel introduces students to diverse subjects and skills, including digital citizenship and social-emotional health. Daily sustained silent reading, wellness activities, and balanced assessments support holistic development during these transformative years.
learning spaces
Dynamic Learning in Middle School
Middle school students at CAC learn in dynamic and flexible spaces designed to support both collaboration and hands-on exploration. In addition to traditional classrooms, students engage in purpose-built workshop spaces for electives, outdoor learning environments, and dedicated science and design labs that blend formal instruction with hands-on work. Flexible classrooms offer cozy reading nooks and varied seating options, while students also begin sharing CAC’s excellent athletic, arts, and library spaces with high schoolers, fostering a sense of community and preparing them for the next stage of their education.
global citizenship
A Global Middle School Experience
Middle school is a time of expanding horizons, and at CAC, students develop a global perspective through immersive experiences both in and beyond the classroom. PRIME trips take students across Egypt, from Red Sea ecosystems to ancient temples and desert oases, fostering cultural appreciation and environmental awareness. Global-focused courses like Worldviews and foreign language options in Arabic, Spanish, and French encourage international connections. Students also engage in worldwide competitions like World Scholars Cup, choir festivals, and a unique tri-sport tournament uniting international schools across Africa.
